It was the first day of school that Myra had ever been to. She had been home schooled all of her life and was quite tired of it. She had convinced her parents to let her move into town on her own and go to public school. They seemed glad that she had left. They thought she was a bit insane and had tried to get her into asylums more than once. Myra was just tired of this. If her parents didn't like her the way she was, then they didn't deserve her. She had gone to the asylum once though. Just to look around. The voices in her head were the worst that they had ever been while she was in there. They were all in pain and confused. It was just torture. Here at school though, there were only a few. Probably just the ones that liked to follow her from home and the occasional new one that stayed out of her way.
At her locker, Myra was gathering her books for her last class, but before her last class she was going to lunch. A sudden yelling in her ear startled her and she dropped all the books she was holding. Which was pretty much all of them. Myra giggled and knelt down to pick them up. Whoops-i-daisy. One of the spirits who had been trying to get her attention all day had gotten agitated and decided to yell at her. She decided not to get mad at it, which she had before, and spoke in a kind tone to it. Now, Tom, I do not want to talk to you right now. We'll speak when we get home. The people closest to her looked at her in a weird way but Myra just smiled at them, closed her locker and walked to wards the lunch room.
The lunch room wasn't too far from her locker, but since the hallways weren't all that big and there were lots of other students trying to get to lunch, it took longer than she thought it would. But she eventually got there. Myra found an empty lunch table and sat her books next to her. For lunch she had brought a nachos Lunchable and chocolate milk. She began humming a random song and started on her lunch.

ooc: Mind if I join?
ic: Carter was lost in the school. He kept running down the wrong hallways, but eventually found the cafeteria. Yeah! he thought to himself, as he walked in. He got in the line and got pizza, a soda, and fries. Well, at least the school food isn't too terrible, he decided, by looks of it. Now time for the hard part. Where in the world to sit? He didn't know where he would fit in, because he wasn't exactly the private school going kind of kid. Far from it, actually.
Carter has had a rough life. Every night, he had to listen To his father abusing his mother. He hated it, and kept telling her to leave him. She would always say, "He's promised to change, he's promised to change..." One night, it finally came to a head. Their "fight" had come wihin reach of his father's handgun, and his mother killed his father. As they heard sirens coming, his mother told him to run, and never look back. She went to jail. Carter listened, and ran and ran, until he came here. He knew his aunt lived here, so she let hiim liver here. She sent him to this private school in hopes of it being a good influence for him. She never asked why he left, she already knew.
Carter shook himself out of his reverie. The galngly teenager had been having this flashback increasingly more often. He looked around at all the tables, and saw an available one. It had a girl who sat there humming to herself, eating a lunchables. Why not? he asked himself, and sat down across from her. "This seat taken?" he asked.
