Name: Rook Merla
Gender: Male
Age: 3
Alliance: Undecided/ Rouge
Breed: European Wolf - Canis lupus lupus
Blood: None.
Location: Wolf Realm.
Appearance: Rook is darkly handsome, with clean angles and smooth features. He is large, and fairly muscular, though his physique can be deceptive, due to his thick fur. As a European subspecies his fur is denser, yet slightly shorter than his American Cousins, and this helps lend to his sleek look. Rook's eyes are a bright, sulpher yellow, eyes that seem to shine out of his dark face. Indeed, his stare can be quite unnerving. Rook's coat is a contrasting dark grey, with a light, pastel grey underbelly and tail - tip. His paws and hindlegs darken into a chocolate - brown colour, spreading to the underside of his thick tail. What Rook's most distinguishing feature however, is his brown mask, that covers his muzzle and around his yellow eyes. He looks quite the dark stranger, almost like a canine Highwayman if you like. However, looks can be decieving. Rook isn't as dark as he looks.
Personality: Rook can be cold and harsh at times, but in fact, he's not a bad old stick. Rook does show compassion, and if he was to stumble upon a wolf in need, he would most probably help them out. He's not heartless.
Rook is playful at times, and enjoys stringing others along. He's intelligent, sharp and quick - witted. He's a bit of a ladies man, and he knows how to use his looks to his advantage. However, Rook can get a little jelous at certain times, so if he likes a wolf... he doesn't want to share her.
History: Rook grew up with his sister Magpie on the bleak, windswept moorland of Tayera, a far off land to the east. Rook and his sister would race across the moors, morning and night, keeping pace effortlessly. Those where the best days of his life, with his sister and parents, Crow and Raven. However, wolves grow up, and soon, Rook and Magpie were ready to leave their homes. It was time to find a new pack.
After bidding a fond farewell to their parents, the siblings set off on a new adventure. Moving west, they stayed together until they reached the land of [ ]. It was here that they would find their homes.
Their seperate homes.
Rook and Magpie agreed to say their goodbyes, and follow seperate paths. They would meet again in the future, with luck. So, Rook went on alone. Here, in this strange new land, where human scent was never too far off, Rook found his new home...
Auditioning Post: The Moon glinted in a dark sky, a pale silver glow in the night. Moonlight coated the sparse trees silver as they rattled gently with the wind. A breeze chased across a dark sea of grass, whispering as it went.
Rook padded at a leasurly pace, shoulder moving with rhythmatic intent. Cold yellow eyes scanned the undergrowth for signs of life. Nothing. This place seemed dead.
The wolf yawned, flashing immaculate white teeth, before coming to a standstill. He sat down heavily with a sigh. Life was harger without Magpie. He missed his sister, missed having her cheerful black and white face around to comfort him. No use moping though. She was gone, for now.
Rook lowered his head onto the cool grass, and closed his eyes. It was nice, sleeping under the moon like this. Not many trees to hem you in. Only the cold light of the stars to lull you to sleep...
A distant howl suddenly rent the air, breaking the silence. Rook's eyes snapped open, and he leapt to his feet, ears erect. There it was again, that same howl. His heart leaped. Magpie? Could it be her...? No... this howl was too deep, sounded male. Rook relaxed with dissapointment. But then, he thought what the howl meant. It wasn't too far away. So he wasn't alone here after all...
