What is it about change, and differences that scare people so much? Clearly, it must be fear to cause the hatred that has been seen over the centuries. Acceptance it preached, and heralded. Demanded, and there are those who see-and those who shall forever be blind.
The Gifted Community has always been different. Perhaps their biggest issue is that it is not just gender or race at hand, but they are not what some would normally consider to be 'Normal.'
No, they have abilities beyond that. They can more objects with a mere thought, or create fire with the flick of a finger. Now think past that. Are they really that different?
Over the years, those who are gifted have been treated like something taboo, something undesired. Perhaps one of the last places of salvation is the Vladmier Academy set in Michigan. Founded in 1832, it has catered to their needs, teaching how to control their gifts. Lately, it has become feared that the institution is the next target of the Gifted Elimination Organization, and that even some of the gifted in the school are aiding them.
