They were dirty, almost entirely covered with the soil from the journey she's been on. She just stood there, her pools of oak stared down at her paws. A state of rest. Though her mind was traveling through many thoughts, her bodice stayed still. They were thoughts of hatred, rivalry, and most of all fate. She knew she was here to do something, that this land was somehow ... bringing her puzzle pieces together. She could feel it. A strong intuition. Her eyes slowly closed themselves and she felt a sensation of comfort and protection overwhelm her fit figure. They opened as she was distracted by an uncomfortable feeling behind her ear. She sat back on her haunches quickly and itched behind her left ear, it flopped back in place. As she stood herself back up she shook the dirt off her body. It looked as if the grains belonged there, and her shaking was taking them away from their ... host. Her bowels broke free as she ripped out a sudden howl, throwing her head up to the endless sky. That was the moment it all sunk in. She would live here for now on and take care of these lands, but she knew she would need much help for these lands are vulnerable. Harmonizing her voice she continued ...

Zeek had seen many things he never wanted to see...never wanted to think about...but this wasn't one of them.
A female by the looks of it... Howling to any who might hear and even beyond that, joining her voice with that of the lands...making Zeek shiver a little with a sort of excitement. It wasn't a 'playtime' sort of excitement though...he didn't know if he had ever witnessed that kind anyway...
This kind was more robust... It was wild and untamed. It was a pull to the landscape around him. It drew him to both the land...and to Zeek's surprise, her.
He softly padded his way over to her, his paws making slight indentions in the dirt beneath him. His breathing was rapid, as if he had been running for several miles, even though he had in fact only been walking.
He moved within 20 feet of her and paused, watching her howl for a moment, transfixed. He was awed by the sheer beauty of the act of that particular female calling to the heavens.
He almost forgot that he was watching her until he suddenly jerked himself back to reality. He didn't know how long she had been howling for...but he thought it prudish to just stare at her. He decided then that he would move a little closer. He got within ten feet and then paused again.
He was this close....why not close the gap? And so he did.
He walked right up next to her and sat on his haunches next to her. She may have been standing...but he didn't want to seem too formal...he was more puppyish that way.
As he sat there, a sudden urge gripped him and he raised his own muzzle in the air, joining her harmonized soprano howl with his own somewhat alto howl.

Her blood rushed through her like rapids bursting through a canyon, splashing upon the sides. Adrenaline took over her, the harmony was almost meant to be it seemed like. The two notes intertwined seemed to fit just perfectly, but she didn't believe that was possible. She felt that love wasn't real, it was all an illusion. A promise was made to herself that she has kept for her entire life, she would never fall in love. Love, she didn't even think anyone could even define that word. It proved that it didn't exist. Though she kept their howl going for a few more moments, it slightly gave her hope. Hope that she didn't want to take over her soul as it wanted to. She could feel the heat coming from the males fur, it seemed to tangle with hers between the two of them. She liked his presence, a surprising amount. Her voice broke at the thought, and blood rushed to her face. Though she knew he would not be able to see that, her head was slowly brought down. Her orbs traveled to her paws and then to his. They were large, strong and agile. Her eyes then traveled back up to meet his gaze. There was a silence, an enjoyable silence that was anything but awkward. Her eyes squinted just minorly, wondering to herself why she hadn't moved away from him just yet. Hesitantly she stood up and casually walked in a circle around him, her eyes didn't touch him anymore. She didn't want them to. Once she reached his back she sat down on her haunches facing the opposite direction, "I'm sorry, sorry I broke it ..." Her voice was sympathetic, hoping, no praying he didn't feel a connection. "I couldn't do it." She mumbled very lowly to herself, barely reaching her own ears ... [/sub]

As Zeek held the note, he could sense the harmony between his voice and the female's like it was calling out to his very soul. It was pulling him toward her in a way he didn't fully understand. He had never known love, although he wanted to. All he had known was hate...and a very cruel hate at that...
As she ended the howl, and him at the same time, his breath was knocked out and a shiver went down his spine. It didn't seem right for something like that to be ended so abruptly. It seemed unnatural.
His somewhat brown-ruby eyes flickered over to see that the female was staring at him. Not in a bad way of course, but with a look of...confusion? A questioning glance...
She got up and circled him, ending up sitting behind him. She seemed on edge for some reason...it must have been what he had felt in the howl. It had to be. She even enforced his thought with her own words. And what she used to deliver the words...her enchanting voice.
She was sorry...for breaking it. That meant that beyond a doubt, she had felt something as well. He couldn't define love... He had never witnessed it. But he could tell that this was something more then just a normal friendliness between wolves.
"It's...okay...," his voice sounded uncertain though. He glanced back over his shoulder at her, not getting up, waiting on her to make the next move.

This was a moment in her life, that she knew she would remember forever. She was terrified that she would ruin it, if she hadn't already. Her heart pounded, almost as if it was outreaching from her seeking the filling that it needed. Her eyes slowly scanned down, and she looked where it pounded the hardest. The vibrations had a steady beat, at a quickly rising speed. She never freaked out like this, and it felt like her blood was boiling inside of her wanting to know more about this male. His heat once again crept up her spine and sent shivers through her slender bodice. A sigh bellowed through her nostrils, they flared only slightly at the breath. Her heart's beat became unsteady for a moment, and went back into rhythm. She was completely embarrassed now. She continued to ask herself why she was acting like this, she had never, ever, felt this way toward another wolf. She fought liking it, but she had no chance to sin the fight. It was as if the longing for this wolf had been boiling in her blood, and now that he was here, she knew. Her body knew somehow. She felt his movement, she mirrored him. She leaned her head over her shoulder too, opposite him. Their faces were close now, she could feel his breathing. Again, she fought the urge to like it and failed. She brought her face to the other shoulder and spoke quietly, and smoothly, "I'm Claire."

Zeek watched the breath that Claire exhaled leave her slender body. He was intoxicated by her scent now...now that he was close enough, too close, he was overcome by it. The only reason that made any sense for this was because he was infactuated...and he accepted that even though he didn't fully understand it.
As she looked back at him, mirroring his movements, he let out a sudden sigh of his own, this one of surprise. He had been shocked by the sudden shiver that ran down his spine as his eyes met hers. As he heard her soft, smooth voice speak her name, his heart fluttered and nearly gave out on him. He gulped deeply to try and calm his nerves a little...but it didn't help, and now she probably expected an answer from him.
He looked at the ground beside him for a second, breaking his view on her face off for a few moments before looking back, unable to keep his eyes away any longer.
"My name...my name is Zeek."

Somehow the moment was still lasting, the ties were still strong like a cable of an elevator. It continued to go down, though it would eventually go up again. Hopefully. Her paws began to shuffle beneath her, the fur of her breast waving back and forth with each motion. It was as if blades of grass were set upon her swaying in the wind, paws were the wind. She had no idea what to do, but knew this was going nowhere fast. She wanted to make a move, wanted to get to know him faster, wanted to look at him again. But nervousness controlled every movement and emotion that took place upon her bodice. Her thoughts exploded, spazzing out was a phrase to describe what was happening ... to the least. Maybe he would start talking more? Or would he just do the same things she does? She didn't know, thought these types of questions sailed along her mind like a boat upon the ocean of knowledge. She decided, she had to. She picked her haunches off of the ground and slowly, eagerly spun in a tight circle watching her back paws along the way. She sat down to face him, and her ears laid upon her head with ease. They were twitching with fear, not wanting love to come upon her. Not wanting to deal with the emotions that every wolf ever spoke about, but she what she did want was a companion. She tested him, wanting him to start the questions. Her paws remained restless beneath her flawless figure.

Her silence perturbed him, but only a little. The main part that still confused him was of course the shiver that ran down his spine whenever he looked upon her. He had seen other females in his life, so he knew that this was not normal, and yet...he was unable to express that. Words would not come to him. He could try all he wanted to, but he was mute. All he could utter was his name and little beyond that, as if he had forgotten his words completely.
As she turned her enchanting body toward him again, he felt that same shiver, but he fought it. He didn't feel right with being so....so weak around her. But she had faced him. She had shown bravery that he couldn't match. And yet...he would try. He turned around as well, much more slowly then her.
As he finished off by sitting down in-front of her, his gaze was fixed on his paws, trying to focus on the little shades of ruby and white that were on his left fore-paw. His ears had already laid themselves down, he was too nervous to keep them up. As the silence wore on, however, he knew he had to do something. It seemed she was waiting for him.
"I...that....I mean...You...have a ....nice voice...," he stated lamely. He didn't know if that's what she wanted, but he didn't look up to find out, he was still staring at his paw.

Garrett had been sitting there hiding and listening to their little conversation. It almost made him begin to laugh. But whatever, it didnt matter. All he needed was some allies. Everyone needs allies. Well and some company. That would be great. Instead of being alone all the time. He had even started talking to himself. Not just those little conversations you have with yourself when you think out loud. These were huge long intricate conversations on just about any subject that any person or animal for that matter could ever think of. I wonder if I really am crazy? He smirked to himself at the thought. Garrett would have laughed but that would have blown his cover. Well they probably wouldnt notice anyways with all the howling and talking. Alright I guess this would be a good time to introduce myself. He jumped out of his hiding place and padded his way to where they were. This might be a little rude but I might need these guys later. He then pushed all the thoughts out of his head and said, "Sorry if I am interupting whatever you guys are doing here but I thought you guys could use an extra hand. I am pretty sure that you guys will end up needing me somehow. You never can be to careful out here." He finished and waited to see what they would say.

She felt vibrations beneath her paws, instinct told her that there was another wolf around. Immediately she stood up, and the moment was over, forever. She shook her fur once again, attempting to snap herself out of it. The view of a large wolf came through the shadows, her ears automatically perked. Her tail gradually raised above them, he felt like a threat at first. The orbs of hers quickly glanced to Zeek, letting him know there was another upon them. She brought herself forward wearily listening to the wolf's words. A sigh of relief captured every hair upon her bodice, soothing her a bit. Somehow she was still nervous around both of them. She nodded, "Of course we can use an extra hand around here, it will make the pack stronger. " She rolled her eyes at herself. She knew she was stupid for this land, but she wanted the chance to create a strong family. Maybe even one of the strongest of the lands. She had never had wanted that, until now.

Zeek read the warning in Claire's eyes quickly and turned his head toward the other wolf, the 'spell' that had briefly come over him disappearing. He watched the other wolf solemnly as he listened in on the reason why he was here.
It seemed that he wanted to join up with him and Claire, although Zeek really hadn't been thinking of them as a pack yet. He guessed that you could probably call them a pack...multiple wolfs in a location that were friendly toward each other? Or perhaps more then that?
He didn't know, but he would find out. He hadn't said anything the whole time that the other two were communing, but he thought he might have to add something eventually...he didn't know what though.
He decided in the end of just nodding in agreement with Claire, he couldn't think of anything else. He swished his tail back and forth lazily as he glanced up at the sky above, his ears laid back. He had met two new wolves in one day...who would have guessed it?
And one of them...he couldn't explain it. But she was more then just a wolf...at least to him.

Garrett listened to both of their answers. Well it was just the girls answer and the guy just nodded his head. Hmm, I wonder who wheres the pants around here. Well it doesnt really matter but it is still a little odd. He decided it really didnt matter and he would follow whoever the leader was.
"Well I never properly introduced myself. My name is Garrett Wolfbane." He looked to them for answers.

Claire nodded, "Well it is very nice to meet you Garrett." She smiled sweetly toward him and quickly became normal again. Reminding herself that she had always hated fake first impressions, and didn't want herself to portray that. A rumble vibrated her stomach, Great. She didn't know if the others would be hungry, but frankly she didn't care. She didn't care whether or not they followed her every movement, though she didn't want them to. She decided that she wanted to be the type of alpha where her pack was free to do anything, within reason. And that she would only be there for leadership every once in awhile, and help of course. She wagged her tail slightly and pranced onto her paws. Leaning forward she advanced into a sprint. Along the way to the clearing she nipped at Zeek, not meanly of course. She just wanted him to come. If Garrett wanted to explore a little more she wouldn't mind, but it would help if he came too. A better meal. As she ran she howled, signaling them that she was going out to hunt. It was followed by a leading bark to get their attention, her paced slowed.

Zeek repeated his nod and followed up Claire's statement with his own; "And my name is Zeek...always good to meet another wolf." Zeek gave Garrett a wolf grin and then watched as Kate come toward him, giving him a little follow-me nip and then ran off toward the clearing. He heard the howl and understood exactly what she was talking about. He got to his own four paws and chased after her, not needed the bark to tell him that she was running off to hunt. He sprinted after her, exhilarated.

Hmmm, interesting. We have a few love birds here. Hehe. This should be fun. Claire he saw went to Zeek and almost nipped him. Hmmm, I wonder why. Then she howled singnifiying she was going to hunt which was followed by a bark meaning the same thing. Well there wasnt much else to do. So Garrett went off and followed the two staying behind them. He didnt want to get between them. That would be very rude if indeed they were a couple.
